Louis Boyd

A very special man in the hearts of many went to be with the Lord today. Louis Boyd passed away around 3:00 today. Louis meant so much to my Church. At one time he was the youth pastor, then left, then came back and filled many different shoes, eventually taking on the role of Associate Pastor and Senior Adult Minister. Louis touched many lives throughout the world. He led my dad's funeral and was there by my mom's side every step of the way. It was right before my dad died in 2001 that Louis was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. He fought it every step of the way. He is now healed and rejoicing in Heaven!

Wearing o' the Green

Well, my blog is anyway. This is through page 3. I still have a long way to go. I figure if I do a tree or two a week, I might be done in a few years. I know it is a bad picture but, that's all you get LOL

Post for Autumn

LOL, it seems that some people are so impatient with my posting.
Just kidding, I know it has been a while. I have just been busy. Let's see I think around my last post I was just coming back from Dallas. I was home for a week then mom and I left again for Vegas. It was a good trip. I seemed to get restless toward the end and I just wanted to come home. Hopefully I am home for a while, until May, unless I decide to go somewhere before then.
I have no pictures today but I have been stitching a little. I have been working on a floundering UFO. I am contemplating starting another huge project but don't know if I have the will to do that right now.
Well, I am waiting on a sales rep to come so I can buy some more wallets and purses. You would think we have enough but, I guess there is always room for a few more.
Until next time...

I got it!!!!!!!!

I received my Mira RR today!!!!!!! I am so happy. It is so pretty. I can't wait to finish it up. It took a long detour getting home but, now I have it in my hot little hands. Thanks to Kathy for keeping tabs on it for me.
Thank you to everyone who stitched on it. Everyone did such a good job. I will be working on it soon.

Happy Happenings!

I am so excited this morning. I got a phone call from Kathy yesterday afternoon and she had great news for me. My Mira RR has travelled all over the world and has made it back to her in Arizona. I am soooooo happy!!!!!!!!!!! She has it in safe keeping right now and will be remailing it to me in a few days. I was so surprised when she called. Poor thing, she caught me distracted, not thinking of stitching at all.

Mom and I just got back from market on Sunday. We stayed the entire week and spent way too much money. I think we got some new, trendy things though. Things should start arriving this week. Next month we have another market trip to Las Vegas. We haven't ever been to that market. If we don't like it, at least we can go see the sites in town again.

No stitching to report today. Hopefully I can pick that back up in a few days. Mom came home sick so I have been taking care of her In trying to not get sick myself, I have been reading myself to sleep very early every night.
Until next time, happy stiching.

Are you still watching???

Here are some pictures I promised from my last post.

This picture is my finished band on the current rotation of the EGA RR. I adapted a band from the SAL from Papillon Creations. I think my band turned out nicely. I don't too much like the previous band but that is my own personal opinion. Hopefully mine will tie in that one and whatever the future holds for it.

Next up is a little pattern I did by Tournicoton out of the Gift of Stitching magazine. I have always admired this designers patterns. I love the use of color and stitches to show depth and texture. As I was stitching this, I hated it. I think it was because I used 5000 count fabric for it LOL, ok, not really, but it was really small. I didn't enjoy it. Perhaps I will try another pattern in the future and have a better fabric choice.

Lastly is my picture of my Queen of Freedom, home from the hospital. I know this isn't the greatest picture. I never professed to be a photographer, amateur or otherwise. I put it up on my mantle and then decided it was too heavy to take it down to try for a better picture. The mantle was the only place in my house I could find to put this. It is really big. It is about 3 inches from my ceiling. I live in a very small house so big doesn't really fit. Anyway, I love it. I love the mats on it, I love the frame, I love everything about it really. I know you can't see the frame real well but the design is small airy leaves...think fern. I thought they looked museummy (I know that isn't a word), which reminded me of Washington D. C., which reminded me of government, which reminded me of the flag and freedom. LOL, I know, I know.

Anyway, so I have gotten a little accomplished in the new year. Next up is to finish my project for the EGA Seminar, then I am getting my Mira November Fairy back out and work on her.
Happy Stitching, till next time.
